This completes the legal ruling in the defendants ( Prosecutors and DA's ) appeal over the jury's verdict to award J.T. $14 Million for his wrongful conviction that resulted in his exoneration after spending 18 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit.
After J.T. was exonerated, they decided to use J.T.'s words of saying " I'm blessed" against him in trying to reverse the judgment of $14 Million.
Up next, this case makes it all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court.
All this makes me wonder, if the State can take your freedom by doing what the legal opinions in this case outline, wouldn't Juneteenth be an opportune time to raise awareness about the history of Louisiana and other states where there's a pattern of these sorts of behaviors where there is also a pattern of NO fitting accountability for the behaviors..
