Lila Symons is an independent typeface designer, lettering artist, and graphic designer who has worked and consulted with many in-house design teams in her 18 years of working. For TypeCraft, Lila shares her stories of working for big brands like Martha Stewart and creating dozens of custom typefaces for Hallmark. We explore what it's like to design custom fonts for in-house design teams, how working as a designer inspired her to change career directions and work as a typeface designer, and how her unique experiences in design took her on an unconventional but impactful career path.
