[07:47] When someone goes through a traumatic experience, it alters their perspective on life. It forces them to understand life at a deeper level. Going and hanging out with your friends is always a fun time but doing something more with your life is even cooler, in my opinion.
[19:10] I had tenants who were thanking me because they feel like the property was not taken care of by the previous owners. So now I understand the reward that you get outside of the financial piece and just being able to get a 120-year-old building back to what it should be and it was even more rewarding than fixing and saving money on contractors, that sort of thing.
[23:58] I think the key to the success of deals that I have done is just taking action and not getting stuck on analyzing a bunch of deals. It’s okay to fail and I try to learn everything I can from them and take that on the next deal. The ability to not be afraid of making mistakes and understand that mistakes are going to be made is something that helped me grow in the last 2 or 3 years.

Trent has been a Real Estate Broker in Oregon for three years and Washington for two years. He has an ownership interest in six rental units and is in the process of flipping a condo in Southwest Portland. Over the last three years in real estate, he has increased sales business by 40% on average year over year while doubling his investment portfolio in the same time frame.
