Today on the BH Sales Kennel Kelp Holistic Healing Hour, we're gonna focus on keeping our active elders, as you young folk too- spry and sprightly. We call them Silver Streakers for a reason, where applicable! Folks, and we're gonna make sure those streaks keep on shining'! The Importance of Staying Active Discussing the benefits of exercise for seniors especially: to work on improved balance, flexibility, strength, and overall well-being. Emphasizing that it's never too late to start! Balancing Act: Exercises for Stability Today and in archival & upcoming shows as well we will discuss Heel-toe walk: Walk heel-to-toe for short distances, focusing on maintaining good posture. Single leg stand: Hold onto a chair for support, then lift one leg off the ground and hold for a few seconds. Repeat on the other side. Side lunges: Take a wide step to the side, lowering your hips as if going to sit in a chair. Push back up to starting position. Core Power! Strengthening the Midsection Explaining the importance of core strength for overall balance and stability. Seated twists: Sitting in a chair and twisting your torso from side to side, reaching one hand towards the back of the chair for a gentle stretch. Marches: Sitting tall in a chair and lifting your knees alternately towards your chest, engaging your core muscles. Superhero pose: Sitting tall and squeezing your shoulder blades together, holding for a few seconds. Cool Down and Stretch Emphasizing the importance of cooling down after exercise.
