Welcome to the Called To Create Podcast where I talk about creating, being creative, personal development, business, and more.

You’ve heard that question before about taking a bird’s eye view.

What would you see? Would you see yourself living a life that you like or love? Would you see yourself making a contribution to the people or causes that are super important to you?

It’s important to take a step back and look at your life as often as can. Schedule it in!

I take a look at my life all the time and then I like to talk about it on this podcast.

The most effective teaching comes from experience. If I didn’t do or don’t do the things that I talk about and teach on then there’s a disconnect with those that are listening. And you wouldn’t believe anything I say.

So, why is important to take a bird’s eye view?

Because it’s common to fall into the day-to-day routine and grind and whatever other words you want to use to describe your life.

It might even scare you when you take a look.

And that’s ok…that’s the beauty of life, you can change. You can decide what you want your life to be like.

When I take a bird’s eye view of my life, a certain time of the day, I see myself going back and forth from my office to the kitchen to look for chocolate or something to snack on when I’m frustrated with whatever I’m working on.

But in other parts of my life I would see that I’m doing ok or even pretty good, but definitely not perfect.

I know what areas I need to make changes to and where I need to change my thinking.

It is a lifelong journey to get where you want to go and be where you want to be, it doesn’t happen in a month or a year because if you have a spouse or children or family, you can’t force them to do what you want.

This is your creative assignment:

From your bird’s eye view, identify at least 1 thing that you see and know needs to change.

Write it down! Get out your fancy notebook and write down what you see and make a decision that you are going to do what you can and need to do to make that change.

Improve your bird’s eye view one step at a time.
