Harry Tyson and Harriette V. Moore were trailblazers in the civil rights movement in Florida. They strove to make equal access at the polls for blacks a reality, despite the struggles they faced early on. Harry was the state president of the NAACP, and eventually would form the Progressive Voters League with a friend. Together, with Harriette's help, they were able to register over 100,000 blacks to the Democratic Party of Florida.
