You control your perception. Yes, you control your perception. For anyone who’s struggled with that idea (yes, I’m raising my hand here), this episode presents a case for small, manageable meditation sessions and mindful moments in nature. Before you think, “Oh no, I can’t meditate. I can’t rest my thinking for more than a nanosecond," or “I don’t live close to nature and mindfulness is such new-age crap.” Before the objections come to mindand believe me I’ve said all of these at one time or anotherhave some faith that I’m gonna steer you toward doable meditation and mindfulness. Because frankly, that’s all I have time for.
Our plates are full, but then that’s precisely why we need meditation and mindfulness. When else can we check in with ourselves? When else can we take a few moments for thoughts that matter to us? When else can we be in our life instead of watching it go by (or worse, forgetting things that have happened)?
