Health advice over the past decade has focused on what we need to lose. What if we flipped the script? Perhaps it's time to focus our attention on what we need to gain for better health.

Building muscle is something we’ve long associated with bodybuilding gym-buffs. Women in particular have shied away from it. Science is beginning to show that building good quality muscle all over our body could be the number one way to boost health, vitality and increase longevity. It’s the best way we can begin to heal the body.

Dr Gabrielle Lyon is author of the book Forever Strong: A New, Science-Based Strategy for Aging Well. In the book she concentrates on how lose weight through building muscle, promoting a healthier weight loss. Through her private practice, popular YouTube channel and influential podcast she asks a fundamental question: How can we build strength, not just in the weight room, but in our daily lives?
