In this episode of Manufacturing Matters, Jason Baechler and Steve Pereira from Moritex Corporation join Winn Hardin and John Lewis to discuss lidar and its different implementations, including MEMS scanning, flash lidar, FMCW, OPA, and polygon mirror technologies. They discuss the unique challenges of designing and manufacturing optics for lidar vs machine vision, and go on to discuss the role of lidar in autonomous vehicles and industrial applications, as well as challenges like interference from other lidar systems and the need for sensor redundancy in certain systems.
