Matthew Vaughn believes that 'Deadpool 3' will "save" the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
The 52-year-old filmmaker is convinced that the upcoming superhero film starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman will be the "jolt" that could revive Marvel after recent disappointments at the box office.
Vaughn, who had previously worked in the genre after directing the 2011 film 'X-Men: First Class,' told the 'Post Credit' podcast from 'BroBible': "The few snippets I've seen of 'Deadpool vs. Wolverine' – or 'Wolverine vs. Deadpool' – I'm sure the dispute between Ryan and Hugh is happening right now – they're incredible. This will be the jolt...
The Marvel universe will experience a jolt and revive it... I think Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are about to save the entire Marvel universe." The 'Argylle' director added: "I'm a real fan of the X-Men, I just want the movies to be as good as they should be." Filming for 'Deadpool 3' was completed last week ahead of its release this summer, with Ryan breaking down in tears as he thanked the cast and crew for fighting "wind, rain, and strikes" during production.
