This Episode of Teach Me to Fish is a template of sorts for future conversations.

This is my story.

- Why I joined – Why I stayed – Why I’m here now.

This conversation is with LTC Trivius Caldwell. Trivius is a fellow infantry officer, who is currently pursuing his PHD at Duke University. You’ll learn a lot more about Trivius in our future episode where he tells his story.

We’ll talk about People and experiences we’ve had, and how understating these can help leaders with tackling the recruiting and retention challenges.
I hope you enjoy the conversation.
Colonel (COL) Matt Leclair’s service began as an enlisted Ranger in 1st Ranger Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment from 1994-1999 and believes it is the foundation for not only his military career but also his adult life. COL Leclair is now a senior Army fellow at the Asia Pacific Center for Security Studies. Next, he will assume command of the 196th Infantry Brigade, the Joint Pacific Multinational Readiness Center at Ft. Shafter Hawaii.

Why Teach Me to Fish?

Catch someone a fish, feed them for a day.
Teach them to fish, feed their family for life.

Our purpose is to help Leaders better understand what drives People to serve. In any organization, the core of recruiting and retaining talent revolves around leadership. And not just average leadership, but motivated, values-based, inspirational leadership.

Our Pursuit here is to get a little bit better every day.

Progress = Small Victories and stacking habits.

Habits like Getting up early, working your butt off, learning something new, Being positive and Surrounding yourself with phenomenal People.

Thanks for investing some time for yourself and thinking about the kind of People and experiences in your life that inspire you to be the best version of yourself.

I hope these conversations spark some ideas on what you can do to inspire People too.
