Can you share some examples of the types of problems or disorders that ACT can effectively address? Is there anyone ACT is not the right fit for? One of the key concepts in ACT seems to be "psychological flexibility." Could you explain what this means and why it's important in promoting mental well-being? ACT involves accepting difficult emotions and experiences rather than trying to eliminate them. Why is acceptance important for managing emotional challenges? Many people struggle with the idea of "acceptance" when it comes to distressing thoughts and feelings. How do you guide clients through the process of accepting these experiences? The concept of "values" is central to ACT. How do you work with clients to help them clarify their values and align their actions accordingly? Commitment to action is another core component of ACT. How do you help clients set meaningful goals and take steps toward them, even in the face of discomfort or fear? How can someone integrate ACT principles into their daily life without formal therapy?
