Hey Gals, coming to you again with a very timely episode that we felt was important.
The whole purpose of this podcast is to start important conversations and we felt that if we didn’t address the common situation that majority of us find ourselves in then we would be doing a bit of a disservice.
BUT we cannot stress enough, this episode is NOT about adding to the noise or doom and gloom of lockdown.
We wanted to create a resource that can help you understand what you might be feeling at the moment and share some tips that have helped us. If anything else, we simply hope this will give you comfort in knowing that you are not alone.
In the first part of the episode we unpack:
- The emotions that you have probably felt but didn’t have a name for; including the one that gave us so much clarity
- The sprint mentality concept and why it could explain why you’re feeling so tired
- Don’t feel like you are in control of your emotions? Neither did we until we understood ‘emotional contagion’ and how it is at play right now
Then most importantly, we cover some strategies including:
- The importance of feeding your brain the right things
- Exploring the concept of flow and how to find yours
- A super easy exercise you can do every night before you go to sleep
- How to reframe your thinking and take advantage of lockdown
- And, possibly the simplest thing you can do to shift your mental state that actually works
The articles referenced throughout the episode are below:
- New York Times Article - Adam Grant
- Harvard Business Review Article - Scott Berinato
- Emotional Contagion Article - Naureen Bhullar
- Being Kind Paper - Jo Cutler, Robin Banerjee
